Kicking Off the Christmas Manis

With a combo of green, of course.

Sinful Colors Happy Ending and Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe and my trusty dotting tool bring you this Season’s mani. 🙂

Been a while since I’ve worn green… quite like it! 😀

No fancy pictures, just the latte that makes my December. 🙂 Nothing like cozy cafes and warm spicy drinks to make you love the season.

Watermelon. Again

So what do you do when you’re wearing a pink called Watermelon and have a polish called Watermelon Rind in your collection?

You make watermelon nails. 😉

This was freehand over a base of Essie Watermelon with Sinful Colors Innocent, China Glaze Watermelon Rind and a black nail art polish from Flormal.

Yum! 😉 (And speaking of yum, there’s a delicious carrot cake my sister made for me…)

Day 23: Inspired by a Movie

Movies! Fun! I saw Prometheus yesterday and really enjoyed it, but I think I saw the most laugh out loud fun sci-fi film today — Iron Sky — the idea, the execution, everything about it was brilliant!

But I’m not gonna walk around with nazi-inspired nails, so today my mani is inspired by another really fun summer film from ages ago — Pirates of the Caribbean. 😀

I painted my nails with Sinful Colors What’s Your Name? which has a little bit more oomph with its teal shimmer than a regular black.

Then I added my pirate stamps using Konad White and as many rhinestones as I could find like around, for some “treasure” on my ring finger nails. 😀

I think there are some Swarowski crystals in there even. 😉

In retrospect… should have stamped the other way round. 😛

Day 22: Inspired by a Song

Ok, so it’s supposedly summer, and I wanted to do something summery. 🙂 So I allowed myself to be inspired by one of my favourite Beatles songs

I still wanted to keep it kinda low key (instead of psychedelic) so I started with a sort of blank canvas.

This is GOSH Miss Sweety, which is a gorgeous peachy nude and I always avoid it because I think peachy nudes don’t suit me… until I put it on for a layering or something and am reminded of how much I love it.

And then there’s a moment of regret I’m not wearing it on its own.

I went on to stamp red strawberries using China Glaze Hey Sailor and an older BM plate.

And then finally used my trusty toothpick method to add leaves and dots in Sinful Colors Happy Ending and Colorama Redcurrant Jelly to make the strawberries look more like… well, strawberries, instead of random red blobs of colour.

And there you go! I’m quite liking this one. 🙂

Day 12: Stripes

This is my favourite mani so far! 😀

I wanted to practice my sponging some more, so I did and combined it with today’s challenge — stripes.

I painted my nails with Sinful Colours Mint Apple, then sponged the tips with China Glaze Trendsetter.

After that (in keeping with the task) I added freehand stripes using the BYS nail art polish in Mirror Blue.

I love the complimenting colours with the similar finishes. This is definitely my favourite mani of this challenge atm. I’m dreading the fact that I have to take it off soon to go on with the challenge. 😛
