Alessandro Dark Secret + Some Swatches

As you probably noticed from my previous post, yesterday I walked into Alessandro’s new trend collection — Dark Secret Winter 2010. This was quite an unexpected, but pleasant surprise for me. πŸ™‚

The collection is described on their web page as

…a journey through time and temptation…

The new winter colours have arrived — dark and mysterious, powerful and provocative! Dark Secret reflects winter fashion in its colours, putting the fingernails of the fashion-conscious woman squarely in the limelight.

The collection consist of ten polishes in their traditional 5ml mini-bottles for trend collections.

I couldn’t find colour descriptions anywhere, unfortunately, but have a look at the pictures!

I swatched two of these polishes for you today — Love Secret and Fun House, check them out at the end of the post. πŸ™‚

In addition to that, the collection also includes two three-piece gift sets — Go Magic! Royal Crash Gold and Royal Crash Silver. Both consist of a glitter polish (either gold or silver), a black crackle top coat and a clear top coat.

Quick swatches of two polishes from the collection — Fun House on pinky and middle finger, Love Secret on ring and index finger.

The polishes are quite different from the bottle pictures as you can see.

Love Secret is a beautiful neon purple (or dark pink) jelly. It requires three coats to get rid of VNL. You could add more to get a darker result. In real life it’s more the shade near my cuticles than tips. A bit darker as well.

Fun House is a very interesting polish. It’s a cool muted lilac creme base with tons of copper shimmer. A classic Alessandro one-coater. πŸ™‚ The base is cool, the shimmer warm making it a polish that will work with most skin tones.

Here’s an underwater shot. This is colour accurate of Fun House, but not Love Secret, which a lot more blue-toned in real life. The picture above is closer.

So, what do you think of this collection? Any plans to pick up some of these polishes?

In Estonia, you can find Alessandro at I.L.U. stores and Tallinna Kaubamaja. Internationally, try M-Beauty24 or e-Bay.

    • It’s an entire collection of dark and/or muted colours — the neon stood out from several metres away. Therefore, I had to have it!

      I love that it’s a jelly. So glossy. πŸ™‚
