I’m at my second to last Alix Avien today. It’s a lucky chance that I have this polish. It’s available in their regular stands, but never caught my eye — I thought, a dark blue…? been there, done that — and so in the store it stayed.

One time, when I was buying other polishes though, it was in this little basket at the counter together with some other priced down makeup. The bottle was scratchy and the back label slightly loose, but for less than a fourth of its regular price I picked it up. πŸ˜‰ After all, it was a blue and I love me some blue.

So that is the story of how Alix Avien No 163 came into my life. And am I glad it did! πŸ˜€

Because, ladies, this is another one of those awesome AA creme-jellies in formula! I mean, the creme part comes to play where it’s completely opaque in two easy coats, but it totally looks and feels like a jelly otherwise.

It’s a dark, near-black blue jelly basically. Not navy, too dark for that, and the blue is not muted enough.

The first picture shows accurately the colour it is, but I included the second, flash picture to show the base colour and the jelly nature of the polish.

Oh, did I mention, the application was a dream and so was the drying time? β™₯

Stay tuned for my final AA!

  1. It is a nice polish, but I’ll pass — I already have some near-black blues (and reds and greens and browns). I get tired of the near-black stuff quickly — after all, it’s almost black in most lights. Near-black brown is especially disappointing.

On an unrealted note, is this Misa Pour Me Something Tall And Strong on the header picture?
