Ready for Christmas

Feels like there are a couple of dozen manis in my folders I haven’t gotten around to posting this year. Probably feels that way, because it’s true. πŸ˜›

Still, with this mani I’m not playing catch-up as I added the top coat minutes ago and now all I need to be completely ready for Christmas is to bake myΒ gingersnaps. πŸ˜€

So, not having done nail art for a long time, I was just overflowing with ideas for what I wanted on my nails for Christmas.

And when there’s a difficult choice to be made… go with everything. πŸ˜€ So, skittles it is.

BeYu No 209 with BYS Pot of Gold – China Glaze Hey Sailor! tipped with Twinkle Lights – China Glaze Midnight Kiss stamped with red and tipped with OPI Rainbow Connection – China Glaze Ruby Pumps on the pinkie

My thumb was the deep yellow of Pupa No 088 topped with Twinkle Lights and Pot of Gold.

I love every single nail! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

That said, I’d forgotten justΒ howΒ gorgeous Ruby Pumps is! It’s been over a year since it was on my nails and with all the fascinating multichromes and stuff coming out lately, it’s easy to forget such a classic. But seriously. It has to be one of the most beautiful polishes ever made. Not even kidding. πŸ™‚

Hope everybody is enjoying their holidays! πŸ™‚

Extravagance is the Order

I’ve been pondering OPI’s DS polishes for ages. For some reason I just don’t want to pay the price of five China Glazes for a single bottle…

But in the end I caved and bought Extravagance.

I am so glad I did! It’s insanely pretty. The regular spiel about pictures not doing it justice and they really don’t! A deep, vampy berry pink with tons of holo and prismatic shimmer. Tons. The depth of this polish is stunning. Way better than any regular scattered holo I can think of.

I repeat again. No justice whatsoever in the pics. πŸ˜€

Snowy Crispiness

The weather guys promised us snow from the middle of this week, and boy, have they delivered.

It’s not the first snow of the season, but it’s probably the one that’s gonna stick around for the next four months or so.

Double “brr”.

A white to match everything I see.

OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls — a super light gray or a white with a hint of gray. Take your pick. πŸ˜‰

This was actually my only choice from the Spiderman collection. Just goes to show how jaded I’ve become about interesting polishes that the off-white creme seemed the best pick. πŸ˜‰

I actually really like it on my nails though.

Now, I just wish I could stay inside andΒ look at the white pretty outside. But I’m gonna wrap myself up in woollen scarves and brave the weather as I’m off to see Cloud Atlas. πŸ˜€

Welcome to the winter wonderland!

The Essence of October

I was on an awesome-beautiful-supertiring-freezing bog hike over the weekend… loved it, but left my nails in the wilderness. πŸ˜›

So here’s an old one. Words cannot describe how much I adore Every Month is Oktoberfest from OPI. Actually, the entire collection is pretty darn stunning, but I’m on a low-buy, so this is the only one I got.

As per usual with something this stunning, words try to fail me and the pictures don’t do it justice, really.

This is glowy awesomesauce in a bottle. Traditional, vampy and a definite must have in my book. And if I can’t find words to describe this cool burgundy shimmer then a word about the formula — perfect! Barely two coats needed and smooth as butter.

The only thing I wish is that the OPI brushes weren’t that wide… it’s just a tad too much for my narrow nails and makes it difficult to paint sometimes.

The Weekend Bog

Girly Nails

Here’s another spring polish that only got its chance on a cold rainy pre-autumn day. πŸ˜‰

OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! is another beauty. It’s a delicate light cool pink with flecky silver shimmer. Beautiful and very girly.

I should have worn it in spring when I took this picture in the Old Town. πŸ˜‰

Blue! Light Blue

After wearing a polish I really didn’t like that much, I turned to one of my “safe” pick-me-ups, that is a polish that has never failed to make me fall for it all over again whenever I wear it.

OPI What’s With the Cattitude? is a light blue which for me, for some reason, is always above other light blues I own… πŸ™‚

Lilac Dreams Comparision

Pale lilacs, lavenders and periwinkles are among the prettiest nail polish colours I can think of… And to my horror I realised that the SpaRitual polishes I bought ages ago were still in my untrieds. 😦

The first one I tried out on a dreary rainy summer day was SpaRitual’s Lucid.

Ungh. Isn’t it pretty? This is a pale very cool lilac with a strong hint of grey.

I also wanted to compare this to some other favourites of mine…

Models Own Beth’s Blue – SpaRitual Lucid – American Apparel L’Esprit – OPI Rumples Wiggin’.

As you can see, Lucid is basically a love child of Beth’s Blue and L’Esprit… though just a bit paler and the formula is sheerer requiring 2-3 coats to be opaque. It’s a very nice and easily controlled formula though!

Suffice to say, this joins my hall of faves. πŸ˜‰
