Black & White Challenge – Day 6

I’ve been really getting back into teal and blue lately, so for this mani of the challenge, I chose an old favourite.

Here’s my entry for Day 6 –ย Colour Base with White.

This was two coats of Snowcrystalย No 446 — a beautiful blue-side teal shimmer with slightly bigger teal sparkle pieces. I seem to recall that this polish was a dupe for OPI’s Yodel Me On My Cell…

The colour is beautiful and it’s been way over a year since I last wore it, so it seems to me it was high time to revisit this pretty. ๐Ÿ™‚ For the white I added Depend’sย White Crackle Effect. I still consider Depend crackle polishes to be the best I’ve tried and as an added bonus they’re also the cheapest with the largest collection of colours available. ๐Ÿ˜€

Yay! Just four entries to go until completion of this challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

Baby Blues

I picked up some yellow rhinestones the other day and wanted to try them out. This is the mani I planned for that. ๐Ÿ™‚

One coat of Models Own Beth’s Blue — a baby blue creme with a hint of lilac — which is fast becoming a favourite due to it being a one-coater pastel with really fast dry-time.

I stamped it over with Snowcrystal No 446 — a petrol shimmer (and OPI’s Yodel Me on My Cell dupe).

I added yellow rhinestones of some of my nails.

Rhinestones are so much easier to use than I’d thought. I need more colours now. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Escape to Paradise Island

That’s what I need with this new coldwave over here. When I was outside today, I seriously felt like my eyeballs were freezing while outside earlier today. And I’m definitely not looking forward to the cold night air when I’m going out later to see True Grit. Looking forward to the film though; I love Oscar-season. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, back to my tips. I wanted something summery and tried out one of my polishes I got from Stockholm — Snowcrystal LE No 446. This from a Swedish brand and it’s a blue-teal or petrol shimmer with tiny sparkle particles thrown in. Absolutely gorgeous! And to boot, it’s almost a one coater. I did two, just because.

And now, if you’re thinking: “Pretty, but I don’t have access to Swedish polishes,” then don’t worry, it’s a dead-on dupe to OPI’s Yodel Me On My Cell.

Of course, I couldn’t just stop here after discovering the awesomeness of gradients. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I added a gradient with Orly’s Halley’s Comet on my tips.

And one in dull, no sun natural light as well:

My own private ocean on my tips. How awesome is that? ๐Ÿ˜€

Swedish Haul!

You’d think in a city with that many stores, I could find more polish… But really, I concentrated solely on polishes I cannot get here. And I’m totally not used to the small size of Swedish (and European) polishes combined withย  their price tag.ย  They’re freakin’ tiny! Really pretty though! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s what I got:

From left to right: Mavala Green Bronze, Mavala Smoky Blue, Depend White Crackle, Depend Red Crackle, Depend No 210, Depend No 041, Depend No 209, Snowcrystal No 446, H&M No Mambo Jambo, H&M Moody Model, H&M Blue My Mind

Obviously, still fond of mostly blue and green. ๐Ÿ™‚

p.s. And my mani held up absolutely perfectly!
