Day 31: Repeat of Favourite and Done!

I am done. I actually managed to complete this challenge (in 2.5 months, but still). Nobody’s more surprised than me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For my repeat mani, I decided on Day 14: Flowers.

It’s nicely in the middle of the challenge and, besides that, one of the few freehand techniques I feel competent doing.

I painted my nails with American Apparel’s L’Esprit. For some reason these sort of pastel lilacs areย the most flattering nail polish shade on me, but I cannotย wear lilac at all as it completely washes me out and clashes with my general skin tone and hair. ๐Ÿ˜›

After that, I proceeded to paint freehand roses with a toothpick using Sally Hansen X-treme Wear Mellow Yellow, Nubar Milk Chocolate, Orly Fresh and SpaRitual Yes, I Can!

I added a top coat too, as I didn’t bother to use one before the roses…

…but to be honest, I prefer the pre-topcoat textured version.

And there you have it! All 31 tasks done. If you wish to check out what I did, just click the “Challenges” tag above or the 31-days tag in the post. ๐Ÿ˜€

Ooooh, off to try my untrieds soon! Can’t wait!

Day 30: Inspired by a Tutorial

There’s this awesome two-tone tutorial that I’ve been meaning to try, so why not now? ๐Ÿ˜€

Here’s my take on saran wrap nails as shown by Nailed It.

I painted my nails with a coat of Models Own Grace Green (how I had I forgotten that this gorgeous green is a fast-drying one-coater?) and then used the technique to add a marble in MIYO Perfumed Raspberry.

I really like how this turned out! What I also find interesting that next to the pink, the green looks more like a cool grey and the bright raspberry pink looks like a darker berry pink… ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m pretty sure I want to try this with a lighter-darker shade of the same colour… or pastels. ๐Ÿ˜€ Or neons! My! The possibilities! ๐Ÿ˜€

Almost there! Now, what will I do for task 31 — repeat of my favourite mani… No idea yet, as I love so many of these in the challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

Day 29: Inspired by the Supernatural

Oooh! Almost there! So when I thought about this task of the challenge, I immediately thought dark and gloomy and possibly ghosts or the like… But to be honest, it’s the summer, and I don’t want to do dark and gloomy.

I painted my nails with two coats of this รผber-cheap light green scattered holo I picked up at a random store a couple of years ago. It’s called HoloNails 3D H8.

Then I used a dotting tool and Orly’s Fresh to add the flubber tips.

Love it!

Even if today’s not the best day for holos… there’s thisย amazing thunderstorm outside. Flashing and flashing. My cat’s face is priceless and she refuses to leave my lap, my thighs will bear the marks of her claws for several days now. ๐Ÿ˜›

Day 28: Inspired by a Flag

Here’s my mani inspired by the blue-black-white of the Estonian tricolour. ๐Ÿ™‚

I painted my nails with Alix Avien’s No 60 and then sponged on China Glaze’s Liquid Leather and BYS Royal Blue.

Quite like this one! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks to the sponging, it looks like a more pastel and summery version of the flag…

Day 27: Inspired by Artwork

I’m back! A little bit of shopping done too. ๐Ÿ™‚

And I wonder if anybody else has ever taken over two months to do this challenge, but I’m nearly there. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just three days to go and here I am getting inspired by my favourite flowers and the artist who probably has painted them most famously.

I started by painting my nails with my all time favourite light blue — OPI What’s With the Cattitude? — and then added random circles of darker blue with China Glaze’s Flyin’ High.

After that, I taped off uneven parts of my nails and painted them with Essence Sundancer. Then I added sunflower water decals.

I really love how summery this is!

Though this kinda makes me want to wear What’s With the Cattitude? on its own again soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Day 26: Inspired by a Pattern

Ok, so this was a hot mess! ๐Ÿ˜› I wanted to do an argyle pattern, which being a strange choice for summer I wanted to do in light colours…

I painted my nails with BYS Colour Change Glitter Purple (one of my favourite girly polishes) and then added the pattern using two Flormal Nail Art polishes — a golden one and a black one.

Now, while the black offered a ton of contrast, the pale lilac/pink and gold just looked too much alike from afar to really tell there was a pattern. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Still, an argyle pattern is something I’d like to try again. Probably in the fall with stronger colours. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

Almost there! Just six more tasks to go. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here I am, using one of my favourite colour combos on my nails — orange and teal.

For this I painted my nails with two coats of Alix Avien No 180 and then after it dried used the taping method to add Manhattan No 870.

I love this combo! And the polishes — vibrant, but somehow muted at the same time. ๐Ÿ™‚
