Am I Dead Yet?

Not quite. I switched from a computer to a tablet for my home web browsing needs (so much more comfy to have a quick look at things!) but the only hitch in that plan was my inablity to get photos from the camera to the tablet.

So. Tons of polishes I’ve bought in the meantime, but haven’t gotten around to yet. As in, still trying to play catch up! πŸ˜‰

Here’s the superb Gosh Galaxy which I picked up as part of my nail polish Christmas presents to myself. I oohed and aahed over it for a while, but didn’t bite the bullet as I thought that it would be too similar to my other “interesting-yet-neutral-colour-mix-foils” like SpaRitual Sacred Ground or Lumene Troublemaker or…

You get the picture. But I’m so glad I did get it eventually! It’s just so pretty! Subtle but effective. πŸ˜€ I don’t really get the name though.

*sigh* Prettiness! πŸ˜€

Autumnal Green for Winter

So. This has been a long time coming. πŸ˜› Both in that I’m showing a polish that I was so excited to get, but which somehow lounged about my untrieds drawer for over two years. And in it being my first post in nearly two weeks. :O

Seriously though, I’ve been so busy I haven’t turned on my home computer in all that time and I think I’ve changed my polish only once.

Here’s Mavala Bronze Green.

Perfect at two coats this is a dusky muted military green creme with tons of bright dark green shimmer.

Beautiful. And unique in my collection when I got it and still. πŸ™‚

I went cross country skiing this weekend for the first time in years and there seemed to be a convention of huskies there. So cute!

Fowl Play

Time to revisit an old non-favourite that has now redeemed itself. That happens to me sometimes — dislike of a polish turns into love for a polish.

This is why I hesitate to give away polishes I haven’t liked that much. πŸ˜›

Orly Fowl Play is a good example of this. For some reason I felt really… meh… about it the first time I wore it (despite loving it in the bottle) but this time…

I’m *really* liking it!

It’s squishy and interesting and just in general a fun vampy cold season polish. πŸ˜€

Voila! In with the old! πŸ˜€

It’s snowing insanely again, so it’s nice to remember the almost reasonably bare ground of only a couple days ago.

And on the Second Day of Christmas

it’s all about green! πŸ˜€

And glitter. Green and glitter. πŸ™‚ When I originally saw this in the display for China Glaze’s Holiday collection I decided not to pick this up, because I thought something along the lines, “OMG this looks soΒ amazing in the bottle that it can’t possibly live up to the promise on the nail and I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment.”

Because that happens quite often with glitters.

That said, I still ended up buying Winter Holly. πŸ˜›

It delivers. Boy, does it deliver! πŸ˜€ Evergreen glitter with holo particles means this is my new favourite Christmas green.

Well done, China Glaze! πŸ™‚

And I hope everybody’s enjoying their holidays. I know I am with my Battlestar Galactica marathon. πŸ˜‰

p.s. My cat is also a sci-fi enthusiast. πŸ™‚

Kicking Off the Christmas Manis

With a combo of green, of course.

Sinful Colors Happy Ending and Orly Meet Me Under theΒ MistletoeΒ and my trusty dotting tool bring you this Season’s mani. πŸ™‚

Been a while since I’ve worn green… quite like it! πŸ˜€

No fancy pictures, just the latte that makes my December. πŸ™‚ Nothing like cozyΒ cafesΒ and warm spicy drinks to make you love the season.

Precious Treasure

I bought this polish a little over a year ago and I’ve actually worn it a few times since… never got around to posting about it though!

Despite coming from last year’s fall collection Alessandro’s Precious Treasure reminds me a lot of the gothic, blackened shimmers that so many brands have been putting out this year.

It has a dark navy base with tons of large, flecky green and blue shimmer.

Definitely feeling the inspiration behind the name here… shimmery treasures in the depths of the ocean. Look at me all poetic. πŸ˜‰

Second consequtive day posting? I’m on a roll! πŸ˜€

Something cute to go with something precious.

Now that green has left nature, it’s time to have it on my nails. Ok. To be fair, I wore this mani some weeks ago.

Vampy cool green featuring one of my favourite Misas – Toxic Seduction.

Two coats and lovely application. It’s an oldie, but definitely a goodie as well. πŸ™‚

It’s almost teal, but for me personally just a bit too much on the green side to honestly call it anything but a really cool dark green. πŸ˜‰
