The Definition of Vamp

I love those little Eyeko bottles with their custom labels and once upon a time I tried to collect them all.

I almost succeeded, but came up a couple short when they discontinued the polish line. ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  Oh, how I still long for Coral and Tea Rose to complete my collection.

Still. Vampira is gorgeous and one of my first Eyekos.

Ain’t it pretty with its red shimmer in a black base? I know there are many like it, but this was my first and the name puts it over the top for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sigh. I can’t believe it’s been years…

Fowl Play

Time to revisit an old non-favourite that has now redeemed itself. That happens to me sometimes — dislike of a polish turns into love for a polish.

This is why I hesitate to give away polishes I haven’t liked that much. ๐Ÿ˜›

Orly Fowl Play is a good example of this. For some reason I felt really… meh… about it the first time I wore it (despite loving it in the bottle) but this time…

I’m *really* liking it!

It’s squishy and interesting and just in general a fun vampy cold season polish. ๐Ÿ˜€

Voila! In with the old! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s snowing insanely again, so it’s nice to remember the almost reasonably bare ground of only a couple days ago.

Chocolate… Red?

Here’s a polish I forgot about for years… and I can’t figure out why because it’s a gorgeous glowing warm red shimmer.

Misa Chocolate Icing sounds yummy and brown, which it’s definitely not. Red. Absolutely red. And there’s really nothing like a vampy red on short nails. ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t you agree? ๐Ÿ˜€

Ready for Christmas

Feels like there are a couple of dozen manis in my folders I haven’t gotten around to posting this year. Probably feels that way, because it’s true. ๐Ÿ˜›

Still, with this mani I’m not playing catch-up as I added the top coat minutes ago and now all I need to be completely ready for Christmas is to bake myย gingersnaps. ๐Ÿ˜€

So, not having done nail art for a long time, I was just overflowing with ideas for what I wanted on my nails for Christmas.

And when there’s a difficult choice to be made… go with everything. ๐Ÿ˜€ So, skittles it is.

BeYu No 209 with BYS Pot of Gold – China Glaze Hey Sailor! tipped with Twinkle Lights – China Glaze Midnight Kiss stamped with red and tipped with OPI Rainbow Connection – China Glaze Ruby Pumps on the pinkie

My thumb was the deep yellow of Pupa No 088 topped with Twinkle Lights and Pot of Gold.

I love every single nail! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

That said, I’d forgotten justย howย gorgeous Ruby Pumps is! It’s been over a year since it was on my nails and with all the fascinating multichromes and stuff coming out lately, it’s easy to forget such a classic. But seriously. It has to be one of the most beautiful polishes ever made. Not even kidding. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope everybody is enjoying their holidays! ๐Ÿ™‚

Extravagance is the Order

I’ve been pondering OPI’s DS polishes for ages. For some reason I just don’t want to pay the price of five China Glazes for a single bottle…

But in the end I caved and bought Extravagance.

I am so glad I did! It’s insanely pretty. The regular spiel about pictures not doing it justice and they really don’t! A deep, vampy berry pink with tons of holo and prismatic shimmer. Tons. The depth of this polish is stunning. Way better than any regular scattered holo I can think of.

I repeat again. No justice whatsoever in the pics. ๐Ÿ˜€

Redcurrant Jelly

If ever there was a more accurately named polish…

Maybelline Colorama Redcurrant Jelly is a deep vampy red jelly. Pretty much the exact colour of its namesake (I love redcurrant jelly!) and with an easy two coat formula.

Probably the reason why I still own it and love it. Itย is almost a decade old, after all, and one of the oldest polishes I own…

It also goes very well with my current favourite — MAC Viva Glam I lippie. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lady Luck

I remember how excited I was when I bought the Gem Crushes almost a year ago. ๐Ÿ™‚ But then my horror of glitter removal came to play and I still haven’t tried all of them…

Still, better later than never and here’s the gorgeous Lady Luck.

Here’s three coats of the lovely raspberry glitter with large holo pieces. Beautiful, but definitely a top coat eater.

I think the last week in September. I already miss summer and flowers…
