Not quite. I switched from a computer to a tablet for my home web browsing needs (so much more comfy to have a quick look at things!) but the only hitch in that plan was my inablity to get photos from the camera to the tablet.
So. Tons of polishes I’ve bought in the meantime, but haven’t gotten around to yet. As in, still trying to play catch up! 😉
Here’s the superb Gosh Galaxy which I picked up as part of my nail polish Christmas presents to myself. I oohed and aahed over it for a while, but didn’t bite the bullet as I thought that it would be too similar to my other “interesting-yet-neutral-colour-mix-foils” like SpaRitual Sacred Ground or Lumene Troublemaker or…
You get the picture. But I’m so glad I did get it eventually! It’s just so pretty! Subtle but effective. 😀 I don’t really get the name though.
First of all: happy new year all! 😀 Secondly, my main resolution that relates to my online activities is definitely to try to update my blog more often. I mean, I still do my nails with alarming frequency… no reason why I shouldn’t upload the pics.
When I was over at my mum’s for Christmas, she went about reading predictions and horoscopes for 2013 (she’s into things like that 🙂 ) and while I knew nothing about the lucky colours for the brand new 2013 before…
I remembered my mum saying that combinations of purple and silver were the luckiest thing. So that’s what I went with for my NYE mani.
I did my nails with the perfect purple creme of China Glaze’s Grape Pop (still a favourite!) and sponged on an old purple-y multicoloured glitter polish and my ring finger with the accent of Orly Out of This World complete with silver studs.
I adored this mani and wore it for three days. And then yesterday decided to update it keeping the accent finger. I love the studs!
I used an old favourite here as well — China Glaze Grape Juice and kept the purple theme.
I adore Grape Juice, but I’m sadly now out of it. Maybe enough left for an accent nail or two in the bottle, but no full manis with it anymore. 😦
Feels like there are a couple of dozen manis in my folders I haven’t gotten around to posting this year. Probably feels that way, because it’s true. 😛
Still, with this mani I’m not playing catch-up as I added the top coat minutes ago and now all I need to be completely ready for Christmas is to bake my gingersnaps. 😀
So, not having done nail art for a long time, I was just overflowing with ideas for what I wanted on my nails for Christmas.
And when there’s a difficult choice to be made… go with everything. 😀 So, skittles it is.
BeYu No 209 with BYS Pot of Gold – China Glaze Hey Sailor! tipped with Twinkle Lights – China Glaze Midnight Kiss stamped with red and tipped with OPI Rainbow Connection – China Glaze Ruby Pumps on the pinkie
My thumb was the deep yellow of Pupa No 088topped with Twinkle Lightsand Pot of Gold.
I love every single nail! 😀 😀
That said, I’d forgotten just how gorgeous Ruby Pumps is! It’s been over a year since it was on my nails and with all the fascinating multichromes and stuff coming out lately, it’s easy to forget such a classic. But seriously. It has to be one of the most beautiful polishes ever made. Not even kidding. 🙂
This mani came together as an accident and I absolutely love it. 🙂
Here’s the situation — huge chips on two nails, big evening out, half an hour to take off the previous mani and go out the door.
Naturally, I needed something amazingly fast drying. So I went for the amazing Golden Rose Mattes.
I painted my nails with Matte Velvet No 103 and since that wasn’t eye catching enough… parked it up with Golden Rose Graffiti No 11.
And the whole thing took around 15 minutes until I was able to get dressed and move on to makeup. What’s not to love about an easy and fast mani that still looks like you’ve put some effort into your nails? 😉
Hi there. My name is … and I’m a nail polish addict. I especially love multichromes and holographic polishes, but who doesn’t? 😉
So I was really excited when I spotted a “special effect” topper from Look by BIPA in a store in Austria. It kinda looked like it belonged to the legendary Orly Cosmic FX collection only even more complex.
It’s called Metallic Hollogram (yes, it says “hollogram”) and it basically looks like tons of green, teal, blue, plum, purple foil particles and microglitter with the overall look of switching between cool green and plum purple.
This is a stunner! And super sparkly to boot. I only wish that companies would understand what holographic means with polishes… I mean this is very multicoloured and definitely metallic, but it’s not a holo polish by any stretch of the word.
There was no sun, so I took another pic in artificial light to show off the sparklies. 😀 The light makes it look warmer than it ever is, the overall effect of the polish is consistently that of a cool shade. 😉
BTW. Here’s me. I’ve never been a shorts kind of girl… preferring dresses and skirts, but for some reason my most worn item of clothing this summer has been a pair of denim shorts. Both in the heatwaves and the cool weather of late. 🙂
I guess I’m being converted to pants. 😛 Question time! What’s your favourite item of clothing this summer?
