June Haul

Ooooh! Finally a non-challenge post. 😀 So… here are the polishes I picked up in June (even despite my polish-buying slump 😛 ).

I have no idea when I’ll have the time to wear these though… my untrieds pile is nearing 50 by now. o_0

Whooh! So, what where your favourite purchases for June?

p.s. My second Mika show and still as awesome as I remembered! My feet still hurt from all that jumping yesterday. 😀

The Killers of No-Buy (a.k.a. Duochromes)

I have too many polishes! Seriously, I’m running out of space to put them and nails to wear them on.  So I’ve officially been on a no-buy (with a couple of exceptions) for nearly a month now. And I was doing so well too, until I saw a new brand today in the store — I mean, a new line of polish for me (OMG!) and there was a LE collection too.

And get this, they were duochromes! (That was the sign of my downfall.)

Cue hyperventilating and all that. 😉

Ok, so I gather the brand is German, it’s called Misslyn. The bottles are 10ml, which is entirely normal for a European brand. There were tons of pretty polishes in the core line as well, but I only picked up one from there (Blue Planet) and the rest were from the LE Peacock collection.

Have a look!

Left-to-right: 720 (Elfin Butterfly), 722 (Chameleon), 729 (Leguan) from the LE Peacock Collection and 595 (Blue Planet) from the core line.

Leguan and Blue Planet

Don’t you just love when you randomly find polishes like these? 😀 I know I do, even if my wallet and storage situation don’t. 😛

Btw, I’m pretty sure that Chameleon is another of Chanel Peridot dupes. Just FYI. 😉

Little Haul

I haven’t done a nice haul post in ages. My last mini-haul was late January when I went to town on older Essie polishes on sale, but today I went out with idea of wanting to do some polish huntin’.

I returned with 13 polishes. This is what I got.

A set of four minis from SpaRitual’s spring 2012 collection Water — Deep, Hidden Reef, Lucid, Ebb & Flow. I was so excited when I realised the mini-pack contained exactly the four polishes I most wanted from this collection! 😀 This happens really rarely. I got a full-sized bottle of a slightly older SpaRitual as well — Circle of Life.

The Water collection is so pretty!

Then I found an intriguing muted blue and teal flecky shimmer polish from Wild&Mild (formely Wild&Crazy) called Madness (on the right). The polishes from this brand are either really bad or really good. This is one of the really good ones, methinks. 🙂 And an Italian brand — One Week — I’d never heard of before. I got a really strange bright greenish brown from them (No 32) and a muted lilac with hidden purple shimmer (No 36).

And finally, I picked up three matte polishes from Golden Rose. A dark blue, dark green and dark purple one. And two of Depend’s offerings from last spring — No 218 and No 228. I love the heavy silver shimmer they’re shot through with. 😀

This again sets me way behind on my untrieds. 😉 Also, my sister let me know she bought me Catrice’s Genius in a Bottle today. It’ll be some time til I get my hands on it, but another thing to look forward to. 😀

The Importance of Being Attentive

So, when everybody was going crazy over the new “unicorn pee” of polishes — BeYu No 209 — I walked myself to my nearest BeYu stand and picked it up. Or so I thought…

See the difference? I definitely didn’t at the store. And so I picked up the one on the left “the 24” and came home with it. And it was the non-multichrome one. As you can see in the post linked to above, I still consider this an exceptionally pretty and glowy red and as such I’m happy with it.

But, of course, I still wanted the fabled “unicorn pee”! 😀 So, I went back and this time I was more attentive and picked up the right bottle.

And when looked at side-by-side…

…it’s so obviously the right bottle. 🙂

Have some more of the pretty one!

And finally, some of the “Ideaalkosmeetika” stores still should have these, if any Estonian ladies want to pick one up! 😀

What does 260 polishes look like?

So, last weekend, I took all my shoe boxes of polishes and poured the mess out. Then I tried my best to reorganise them by brand and colour. Filled up four shoe boxes and this nifty little spice shelf my sister got for me for my birthday (of course, I’d need ten more to fit all my collection…)

But at least the pretty little Orly and Nfu-Oh polishes can shine proud now without being hidden away. 😀

MLV. 🙂

What I’m lacking is time. Not just time to take photos (I have actually a couple of weeks worth stockpiled) but the actual time to sit down and write a post. Or, to change my polish often.

My pile of untrieds is growing… OMG. So, until then, I’ll show you what I wore for almost a week. 🙂

OPI’s gorgeous Shimmer & Simmer from last year’s Burlesque collection. I love that it mostly appears blue, but you can still see all the multicoloured glitter. I’m wearing it at two coats over one of Essie’s Sew Psyched.

Brought to you by my mobile on the bus. 😛 Try not to notice the tipwear, I think this was on day four or five of this mani.

Also, see what I got today! Four foils from Flormal’s Miracle Colors line:

There were several more different colours, but I got the ones that didn’t remind me too much of various Orly foil-y duochromes. 😉 (Or I might just go back for them…)

p.s. What’s been taking up my time?
