Day 6: Violet

Cheat day. 😛 Instead of violet, I’m doing lilac. Close enough, right? The thing is I really wanted to wear one of my favourite polishes…

This is three coats of Sally Hansen’s Mystic Lilac. Gorgeous polish. Muted lilac with a ton of green shimmer flecks.

I have so much love for this pretty thing that I couldn’t even make myself add anything to it to distract from the beauty.

Be-Jewelled

I wore this a few days ago and loved it. Be-Jeweled was my second Gem Crush polish and the formula was just as good.

I like the cool lilac main glitter with the larger pinkish hex-glitter pieces. 🙂 The contrast isn’t incredibly noticeable, but it’s there.

It also flashes different colours under direct light.

Ok, so this is pretty damn cool, and I can’t wait to try the rest of these. 🙂

Shimmery Lilac

This is one of my more recent finds and I love it. 🙂 The Brand is BellaOggi One Week and the polish is No 36. This is a nice muted lilac with more than just a hint of gray (in fact, in low light it looks less lilac than gray) and a nice hidden shimmer.

This was two coats and the formula is great. The brush was slightly problematic, but then again, I don’t like chubby flat brushes.

Here’s another one for the shimmer, the shimmer…

The sun tells me that spring is here! 🙂

Ascalon

That’s it. I’m ordering more A Englands. Ascalon — a charcoal holo with lilac undertones — has to be among my new favourite polishes. I love how in different lighting conditions the underlying lilac peeks out. I also really like how dark it is against my pale skin.

At the moment, this is the darkest holo I own. 🙂

Like with Tristam Eyes, this was again two super easy coats. I really like how A England holos have a no fuss application and I can easily use them with my regular base and top coat.

Time to get some more! 😉

Updating… with Flakes

My first reaction when wanting to update an lighter many this winter has been.. Snow Globe. 🙂 This time, I managed to resist and reached for my sadly little used bottle of Nfu-Oh No. 48 — peach to pink flakies and white shimmer in a sheer pink base — instead.

As already traditional with flakies, I then mattified the entire thing using Flormal’s Matte Top Coat to try it out as a really cheap alternative to the Nubar one I’ve been using. Works like a charm! 😉

I’ve been neglecting my flakies lately… and yet they are so pretty. 😀

I really loved this matte. 🙂 My nails looked positively metallic most of the time.
