Holorific Friday

Or something. 🙂 Here’s a quick one for the weekend. My very first holo bought before I even knew holos existed! Seriously. I just thought it looked like a pretty periwinkle shimmer in the muted light of the store here I got it.

I’m talking about China Glaze 2nite, of course. 🙂

You cant’ imagine the moment when I first wore it and saw it in sunlight! Suffice to say that was the beginning of my love for anything holo and by now I have quite a few — scattered, linerar, sheer, glittery you name it.

None can beat 2nite as a favourite though.  IMG_0857

You see why. 😀

Kinda goes with these perfectly warm and sunny summer days of yesteryear…

Am I Dead Yet?

Not quite. I switched from a computer to a tablet for my home web browsing needs (so much more comfy to have a quick look at things!) but the only hitch in that plan was my inablity to get photos from the camera to the tablet.

Oops.

So. Tons of polishes I’ve bought in the meantime, but haven’t gotten around to yet. As in, still trying to play catch up! 😉

Here’s the superb Gosh Galaxy which I picked up as part of my nail polish Christmas presents to myself. I oohed and aahed over it for a while, but didn’t bite the bullet as I thought that it would be too similar to my other “interesting-yet-neutral-colour-mix-foils” like SpaRitual Sacred Ground or Lumene Troublemaker or…

You get the picture. But I’m so glad I did get it eventually! It’s just so pretty! Subtle but effective. 😀 I don’t really get the name though.

*sigh* Prettiness! 😀

Autumnal Green for Winter

So. This has been a long time coming. 😛 Both in that I’m showing a polish that I was so excited to get, but which somehow lounged about my untrieds drawer for over two years. And in it being my first post in nearly two weeks. :O

Seriously though, I’ve been so busy I haven’t turned on my home computer in all that time and I think I’ve changed my polish only once.

Here’s Mavala Bronze Green.

Perfect at two coats this is a dusky muted military green creme with tons of bright dark green shimmer.

Beautiful. And unique in my collection when I got it and still. 🙂

I went cross country skiing this weekend for the first time in years and there seemed to be a convention of huskies there. So cute!

The Definition of Vamp

I love those little Eyeko bottles with their custom labels and once upon a time I tried to collect them all.

I almost succeeded, but came up a couple short when they discontinued the polish line. 😦  Oh, how I still long for Coral and Tea Rose to complete my collection.

Still. Vampira is gorgeous and one of my first Eyekos.

Ain’t it pretty with its red shimmer in a black base? I know there are many like it, but this was my first and the name puts it over the top for me. 🙂

Sigh. I can’t believe it’s been years…

Fowl Play

Time to revisit an old non-favourite that has now redeemed itself. That happens to me sometimes — dislike of a polish turns into love for a polish.

This is why I hesitate to give away polishes I haven’t liked that much. 😛

Orly Fowl Play is a good example of this. For some reason I felt really… meh… about it the first time I wore it (despite loving it in the bottle) but this time…

I’m *really* liking it!

It’s squishy and interesting and just in general a fun vampy cold season polish. 😀

Voila! In with the old! 😀

It’s snowing insanely again, so it’s nice to remember the almost reasonably bare ground of only a couple days ago.
