Snowy Little Glitter Skittles

Oh dreary old winter, when will you be gone?

Seriously. It’s too cold. I don’t want. At -32 degrees Celsius, it’s the coldest day of the winter yet.

So I needed something reminiscent of spring, and allowed myself to be inspired by my last year’s Easter mani and one of the prettiest glitters that China Glaze has ever released — Snow Globe.

Ungh. They are all so pretty. OPI’s Shrek collection has to be one of my favourites from that company. (But I think it might get dethroned by this year’s Holland collection? Seriously everything in it looks amazing.)

So, starting from my pinky I did my nails with OPI’s What’s With the Cattitude, Who the Shrek are You?, Rumple’s Wiggin and Fiercly Fiona. My thumb was done in the baby pink of Alessandro’s Pretty Ballerina. My hand literally refused to be positioned so that I could get a picture with my thumb nail included, so you see the bottle colour only.

These polishes are all so smooth, creamy and perfect two-coaters… ♥

Then I took the multicoloured pastel glitter of Snow Globe and sponged it over my tips to tie the mani together. I can’t get enough of Snow Globe this year!

I can’t actually make up my mind about over which colour I like this best… Can you?

My plan today? Lots of rooibos chai. Loads of it. With soy milk and honey. Hopefully, it’ll help me stay warm while I re-organize my nail polish boxes. As everything is overflowing. 😮

Mmmm… Duochrome

My favourite polish in January. And my favourite for far from Flormal’s Miracle Colors line. I couldn’t stop staring at my nails the entire time I wore the bautiful U16. And I wore it for quite a few days. 😉

This is a lilac to blue foil. Yum! Kinda like Sally Hansen’s DVD, but the other way round…

I thought this was going to be really sheer on the first coat (again, similarly to DVD) but the formula was superb and easy to work with and three coats was all I needed.

This lasted well as well.

Basically, this applied well, lasted well, was impossibly cheap at under two euros, and… it’s outstandingly pretty. What’s not to love here?? 😀

Now, I take my picstures under a “daylight” lamp, but with duochromes, they really show their best colours (so to speak) under shaded daylight. So here’s a photo of that variety as well.

Have I convinced you yet that you need to check out this line from Flormal? 😉

I Smell Paradise :)

So, I finally got around to trying out one of the MIYO perfumed polishes I got for Christmas. (And I find it really difficult to type one-handed as my cat has decided to sleep on my one hand and a part of the keyboard :P)

First up is Tropical, named so for the scent, not the colour, I think. It smells a bit fruity and flowery at the same time. Pretty strongly as well. I thought it would be less as it dried and when I added my top coat of China Glaze’s Fast Forward, which has a strong smell as well…. But every time I move my hands near my face I get a whiff. Thankfully, I like it.

Enough about the smell! On to the colour, which is a lovely baby blue with hidden lavender shimmer. The overall effect is something between a cornflower blue and periwinkle. So pretty! I have several baby blue cremes and baby blue cremes that lean lilac and there’s of course the baby blue with hidden blue shimmer… but nothing like this. I like it in winter and it’s gonna make a great spring polish as well. 😀

The formula was nice enough at two coats that I’m considering picking up some more from this line…

Hope you’re having a lovely weekend! 😀

Sacred Ground

So here’s the thing. I’ve been lemming SpaRitual’s Sacred Ground ever since I saw the first swatches in summer. And when I finally got my hands on it, it looked gorgeous in the bottle. So unique with it’s subtle multicoloured flecky microglitter in gold and lilac in the medium grey base.

And it still is lovely, but it reminds me a bit of one of my all time favourites — Lumene’s Trouble Maker — and doesn’t quite live up to it…

That said and done, still one of my top ten polishes for 2011. 🙂 Because it’s still one heck of an interesting shade.

I also got Howl from this collection and I can’t wait to try it! (Even if I really wanted it for the name. ;))

Glittery Love :)

Now, this is gonna come as a surprise. Out of all the possible bold and bright colours in BYS Colour Changing Mood Polishes… I like this one the best.

This is BYS Mood Polish in Glitter Purple. Angelic, girly… everything that usually screams dull for me in a polish.

Actually, I have no idea why I picked it up in the first place as I put off wearing it for a long time — it looks like a frosty piece of mess that’s probably gonna be bumpy in the bottle. (I guess my experience with glitter in a shimmery frosty base isn’t the best…)

However. It’s perfect. 🙂 Three coats here. Changing from pink to light purple with tiny pieces of silver glitter.

I mean, can you see just how lovely it is? 🙂

Seriously. Who would have thought? Me. Gushing over a pale shimmery thing. But look at it! 🙂
